Can I end my Birdwatch membership if I sell my home?

Yes, and congratulations on the exciting new chapter ahead!

Birdwatch is built to be your long-term partner, but we don't want you paying for support you can’t use if you're moving. If you selling your home during your membership, we’ll allow an early end to your membership term as part of the sale.

The prep work

Of note, we’ve supported many members through their home sale process, and we’re here to be a partner right up to the finish line. That can include:

  • Pre-sale projects to get the home in great condition (the kinds of details that help you show well and protect your sale price)

  • Birdwatch Fix visits for last-minute work before listing photos and/or showings

  • Helping tackle negotiated repair requests that come up during the transaction

  • Sharing preventative maintenance history if you were on a HomeCare Plan (sort of a CarFax for the home)

In short: we can help you put your home’s “best foot forward,” and we’ll stay steady all the way to closing.

And a parting incentive: if you introduce us to the new homeowner and they enroll in Birdwatch themselves, we'll send you a $500 thank you check for the referral!

Ending your membership: here’s how it works

Your membership will officially end as of your home’s closing date. New monthly charges will stop, though any prepaid services or plans are non-refundable.

To initiate your request, we just need two things:

  1. Give us 30 days’ notice that you’re planning to sell and want to end your membership at closing, this way we can adjust any pending service schedule logistics.

  2. Send a copy of the sale record once you have it (anything official that confirms the closing—e.g., your settlement statement / closing disclosure / deed transfer record).

Your account must be paid in full and current. If there is any unpaid balance for any reason, the membership termination cannot be officially recognized until the balance is brought to $0.

Once the above is situated, Birdwatch will conclude monthly membership fees and any HomeCare Plan billing as of the closing date.
